Historical Research Services
For people, places, and the stories connected to them
Craig provides documented historical and genealogical research for individuals, homeowners, and organizations looking for clear, evidence-based answers about the past.
His work focuses on original records, such as land deeds, census data, probate files, newspapers, and local archives, along with explaining what those records actually tell us. This is the same research approach he’s used on television productions for Haunted Discoveries and Haunted Discoveries: Family Spirits and for his book, Haunted by History.
If you’re trying to understand who lived somewhere, where someone came from, or whether a story holds up to documentation, Craig can help bring clarity to your question.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a typical research project take?
Most projects take 4-8 weeks from deposit to delivery, depending on complexity and record availability. Craig will discuss a more specific timeline with you once you two have met, and he understands the scope of your project.
What if records aren't available or the research hits a dead end?
Craig is committed to honest, evidence-based research. If records don’t exist or can’t be located, he’ll explain what was searched and why, and provide honest conclusions, including uncertainties. You’ll still receive a written report documenting the research process.
Does Craig work on projects outside of California?
Yes! While Craig is based in California and has deep expertise with California records, he conducts research nationwide and can access archives, genealogical databases, and records from across the country.
Can Craig verify or disprove ghost stories about my property?
Craig focuses on documented historical facts, like who lived at a property, what events occurred, and what the records reveal. He can help you understand the actual history and distinguish between facts and legends, but paranormal claims are outside the scope of this historical research.
What format will I receive my research in?
You’ll receive a polished PDF report that includes a written narrative, timeline, source citations, and copies of key records. The report is designed to be saved, shared, and used for personal or professional purposes.
