There will be a pre-grant workshop sponsored by PDE and required of principals of buildings applying for Classrooms for the Future grant.  The session we can attend will be held at PATTAN, King of Prussia on Wednesday May 17, 2006.  Registration for the workshop is available here. 

I contacted Kathy Brautigam at PDE and she indicated that this session is also for technology coordinators.  She also confirmed that as of yesterday the RFP has not been released for C4F.  Yet another example of PDE failing to meet its own deadlines, not giving schools enough lead time on major initiatives.  This is not any reflection on the job of PDE personnel, but an issue of management.  If memory serves PDE office of ed tech is operating at its lowest staffing level ever.  Not a good way to demonstrate a committment to educational technology Gov. Rendell.
